Unusual Wedding Venues

Finding a wedding venue that all your friends haven’t already been to can be a bit of tough task in London! So to help find some unusual spaces I asked Fafavia from Hire Space, the London venue website to give her favourites. Over to Fafavia.

The National Theatre

My first would be the Deck at the National Theater. It’s set right in the centre of the Capital on the roof of the National Theatre, so as you can imagine the views are magnificent. A wedding outdoors may feel a world away at the moment but with its mix of indoor/outdoor space the venue is perfect for an unpredictable English summer.

Next up is a space in another one of London’s iconic buildings, the British Library. The space is unique in that it opens up onto the British library’s world famous collection which includes (amongst another 150 million items) the Magna Carta! I know, sitting revising for my finals I didn’t exactly picture walking through copies of Chaucer on my big day either, but believe me this space is truly special.

If however you’re a bit more cosmopolitan and like things to be a little more luxurious? Then Beach Blanket Babylon in Notting Hill is the venue for you.  This hidden gem is just right for a decadent wedding banquet, with Louis XIV style furniture surrounded by glitzy chandeliers and glorious red velvet curtains.

Fourth on my list is a chic and industrial-style venue that can hold anywhere from 30 to 1,000 people.  The versatility of the Forman’s Smokehouse Gallery allows your big day to be exactly anything and everything you would want it to be.  And if you want even more, then I’m sure the extensive view of the Olympic Park will help.

Mill Hill School

Last up is Mill Hill School, but do not let the “school” part fool you, with such a striking banqueting room this venue would be befitting for just about any wedding.  From the beautiful manicured gardens to the overall feel of British elegance, this space feels more stately home then school.

That’s my favourite 5, but it would be great to hear your suggestions too! Comment below or give me a shout on Twitter with any hidden wedding gems I should know about.
